We would advise going for “ concentric” as this places a single perimeter that is easy to remove and provides the structural strength to make sure the lithophane is stable. Generally, all patterns work except for the line and cross pattern. We use this set of 60 degrees to make sure the lithophane is supported and the overhangs can be properly printed. Usually, 3D printers can print overhang angles of over 60 degrees. This setting determines what angle supports should be placed. One of the most important settings to get right next is the “support overhang angle”. This will, in part, make sure that no supports are being generated inside the lithophane. Make sure the support placement is on the “touching build plate”. In Cura, you should first enable the supports. It often is just trying to find what works for you. However, these slicers should have similar settings. We will explain the settings for Cura as we do not use PrucaSlicer or Simpl圓D. So how to make sure it only places support at the right places? But for some lithophane shapes supports are needed, such as for the circular, Christmas star, and heart shapes. Normally you don’t want to use supports with a lithophane as it can automatically place supports in the lithophane which will screw up the lithophane. To make matter worse, even every plastic from different companies are different as well and require some tweaking in the slicer to get a satisfying result.įear not! We’ll go over the most important slicer settings for the most used slicers to help you get great lithophane prints! Every 3D printer is different and will therefore require different slicer settings. So much so that we cannot cover them all. There are many factors that are very important in creating a successful print. It converts your 3D model (STL file) into a file format the 3D-printer understands (code file) where instructions for the 3D-printer are stored. This is just the basics of what a slicer does. The 3D printer must specifically be told to move from one position to another position while extruding (pushing out) a certain amount of plastic. This must be done because your 3D printer does not understand what it should do with a 3D model. Slicers “slice” your 3D model into many layers and lines. There are multiple slicers out there but they essentially, down to their core, all do the same.

You awaken as a robot guided by an unseen voice as you explore your worlds and solve increasingly complex puzzles. Hey all, does anyone have a phantom template or plan, or could give me a few basic dimensions if they have one?īody length/, width and thickness. the rest looks not too complex (to someone who knows nothing about building).Īnyway, if anyone can recommend a potential maker who might be up for that, let me know. Re the body, i think that angular neck pocket chop either side of the neck pocket (see photo below of that) may be the only awkward bit. but i have a router and bits for holes and slots (art school frame making days). i'm planning 'crazy' in keeping with vox theme. but no pickup or control cavities needed, as i'm still trying to work out what i want there. a potential option may be a single neck pocket rout if i can work out what that should be. It would just be a basic flat (unrouted) blank i need. have to balance budget against not being immortal.Ĭan any modders here suggest any of the fb resident or allied builders who may be up for a one off phantom body blank? basic-basic multi part alder or something simple. I have a guitar neck which i think would be boss perfect, so am pondering what a custom body might cost (if a readymade cannot be found). Have been thinking more about this one this week. This is the cataldo copy next to the original 1965 vox. It's by cataldo basses, so demanding of technical skills, tools, etc, light years beyond me, but it may be of interest to others in the modding section. but for the asking price, totally scarlet fever.ītw, while i was at talkbass researching i also stumbled across this brilliant thread documenting a pro luthier's build of a clone phantom bass. so i suppose that balances out to both hold prices down while obliging buyers to be open-minded about condition. Re condition, with something this kooky there are the combined forces of 'difficult to find' but also 'difficult to shift'. So the reissue sounds like the only one i could live with. They also did a Teardrop reissue, which is identical apart from the body shape.īig thanks for the extra details just been searching around the webs and it seems the original phantom basses were longscale and had superchunky necks ("like a 1955 precision" according to one account). The two-saddle bridge didn’t intonate perfectly, but not too bad and/or would be easy to change. They’re also probably better-made than the originals, with slightly simpler electrics and better modern pickups. That particular one had been slightly crudely hand-sprayed in something like car paint over the original too-shiny polyester finish, which actually made it look much more like the originals! - but even a non-bodged one should be just about within your budget I think. so thought i'd ask here too, in case any of you hardcore diyers have seen anything. I am going to put a shout out in classifieds here for a project, but that's a highly improbable long shot. Is anyone aware of anything out there? vox blanks or kits? I've checked CH (main affordable uk site i know of) but obvs phantoms are an outsiders' option, so wasn't surprised by their absence. obviously may not be perfect, but good enough for a first project. used to be just basics strat, lp, tele, but now they are doing the other things (jazzmaster and vees). I was quickly dropped into a very handy wizard that walks you through the entire process needed to make custom alert actions. Most of the other great features of this tool around data ingestion, extraction and normalization weren’t relevant. I went into the app and clicked “Create an add-on.” I then clicked the button to create a custom alert action. I downloaded and installed the Splunk Add-On Builder 2.0 to my home Splunk Enterprise 6.5 server. In particular, I wanted to see if I could turn my scripted alert action that tags system in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) into a custom alert action and ARF action. When I saw that new version of the Splunk Add-On Builder had been released, and that it not only supported custom alert actions but also Enterprise Security Adaptive Response Framework (ARF) actions, I had to give it a try. Scripted alert actions existed before custom alert actions, but were more difficult to share and implement. While I am no developer, I have tinkered with scripted alert actions in the past. This allows users to take actions on Splunk alert search results by integrating with nearly any type of open system. Since the release of version 6.3, Splunk Enterprise also supports TAs for custom alert actions. Technical Add-Ons, aka TAs, are specialized Splunk apps that make it easy for Splunk to ingest data, extract and calculate field values, and normalize field names against the Common Information Model (CIM). As a group, the community writes amazing Splunk searches, crafts beautiful dashboards, answers thousands of questions, and shares apps and add-ons with the world.īuilding high quality add-ons is perhaps one of the more daunting ways to contribute. Since the recently-updated Splunk Add-On Builder 2.0 was released, however, it’s never been easier to build, test, validate and package add-ons for sharing on SplunkBase. One of the best things about Splunk is the passionate user community. Taking Action: Step out in faith and face your fears, knowing that God is with you. However, the re-release might be part of the reason that Infinite Warfare isn't making its way to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. At present, Activision is maintaining that the game won't be sold separately to Infinite Warfare, but that could perhaps change if there's an audience hungry for the port. It remains to be seen whether the bundled Modern Warfare Remastered will make its way to older consoles. Last year's instalment - the well-received Black Ops III, developed by Treyarch - did see an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release, but that version of the game didn't include its campaign mode. This news shouldn't be too surprising to fans of the Call of Duty series. While there's no specific confirmation that the Xbox 360 is also being left in the cold, neither console has been mentioned in any marketing materials released so far.
